SEO and PPC copywriter
I'm an Australian freelancer who works as an SEO and PPC copywriter. I’m diversely skilled across all areas of digital communications, but copywriting is one of my strengths.
I have been writing, designing and publishing on the web since the mid 1990s. I've also worked as a journalist. I have in-depth knowledge of written communication, web design and digital marketing.

Who I work with
Most of my copywriting clients are digital agencies. They may be full service or specialise in only SEO or PPC campaigns. They outsource their copywriting tasks to me — everything from blogs and landing pages to metadata and advertisements.
I also support small businesses and entrepreneurs who want to manage their own digital marketing but still want professional support.
I'm located in Goolwa, South Australia. I work remotely with clients across Australia and overseas.
I have several clients in the USA. They either have a brand presence or their own SEO/PPC clients in Australia. They hire me as a local Australian voice to write fresh copy, or to rewrite their existing content for an Australian audience.
How I work
I'm very flexible, especially for digital copywriting projects. I'm fast and can handle bulk work with tight deadlines. After many years of experience, I've developed a good workflow and use tools like voice-to-text.
I never use AI-generated text. Not only because my clients have a higher standard, but also because I can produce content quickly enough without it.
My strategies
I have learned a lot about search and PPC marketing over the years, but I always follow my client's strategies. I adhere to best practices, but these are always changing. I can follow your beliefs about what works best.
My PPC & SEO copywriting rates
Because I'm so fast, I can compete with the per-word rates of juniors and copywriters from overseas. For basic SEO work, I can probably match what you're paying your other writers.
That being said, I am increasingly being asked to write more complex, well-researched articles. Many clients ask if they can pay more so I can invest more time.
I also write as a freelance journalist for major news outlets in Australia, so I can write high-end SEO-driven copy with interviews and case studies. It all depends on your goals and the type of content you're looking for.
My PPC copywriting can be charged per ad or word. An hourly rate can work well too, especially if you want to test many similar versions. I can contribute to your campaign in real time, putting new ideas forward when the results come in.
Portfolio examples
The Interest Forest
The Interest Forest is a website that catalogues hundreds of children's interest topics and links them to Australia's early childhood curriculum. The audience is educators and teachers.
I was involved in every aspect of the website's development, including SEO-friendly web design, research and writing, and photography. The site was built using Drupal, an enterprise-level CMS. I am currently involved with a rebuild that utilises ontologies and data-to-text generation.

Reddit advertising
These are examples of my own text-based Reddit ads. You may have even arrived at this page after clicking something like this.
Versions of these ads usually achieve between 5% and 7% CTR, which is high for Reddit. Out of those who do click on the post, approximately 45% click on the hyperlink that takes them to this website.
Read the two Reddit ads. Notice the difference in tone and writing style between them.
Google advertising
These are examples of Google ads for my PPC copywriting service. They have subtle but important differences. Read the two Google ads.
Lifestyle journalism
The following articles were written for major publications in Australia:
- It's just like a Bluey episode was written for The Guardian, and explores strategies for working from home with a toddler.
- A modern-day beauty pageant was also published in the Guardian. The story discusses the trend of mothers paying to endorse brands online.
- Why I embraced #vanliving was published by SBS.
- The articles "I was shamed by another mum for the pram I use" and "I used a maths formula to find a husband" were both published in Kidspot.
